Do you think you can lend Apple’s device for a month? It looks crazy. You buy an iPhone on a monthly subscription and trade it in a timeframe that you choose in your plan. This will be a landmark in the history of Apple and its customers, especially for the sale of specific iPhone models.
Previously Apple has launched the iPhone Upgrade Programme, in which the price of the device is split across 12 to 24 months. It helps users to pay money for a new iPhone, either after 24 monthly payments or to upgrade after 12 months. But Apple’s hardware subscription service will be a phenomenon for Apple lovers.
Apple is planning to let customers subscribe to hardware with the same Apple ID and App Store account they use to buy Apps and subscribe to services today. The programme would differ from an instalment program, in which the monthly charge would not be the price of the device split across 12 or 24 months.
The monthly fee will depend on the device the Apple lovers choose. The company will allow users to exchange their devices when fresh models come on the market. This will be heaven for tech lovers who don’t have money to buy a costly iPhone but can pay monthly fees.
Apple has been planning to launch “buy now, pay later” for several months. Apple has procrastinated on this hardware subscription service for a while now. Reports say that Apple will finally inaugurate this service at the end of 2022.
Unfortunately, there is no information available about what the prices for different plans and bundles will be and what devices will be included in this service.
Apple is devising a plan to attach this hardware subscription programme to AppleCare and Apple Bundle that helps customers to subscribe to their favourite services which currently includes Apple TV+, Arcade, Music, and Cloud at budget-friendly fees.
The subscription will mature through the user’s account, App Store, and Apple’s website.
The basic plan is to make akin, the iPhone buying process, payment for cloud storage, and monthly Apple Music subscription. Apple is not alone to foray such services; Peloton Interactive and Google have launched similar services before. This service will be simple to manage and will make previous services less attractive, for example, carrier subsidy and instalment plans.
To conclude, Apple always facilitates its customers by giving different plans and programmes. Apple’s hardware subscription service will allow Apple lovers to get iPhones and other devices by monthly subscription. This will be completely different from the iPhone upgrade programme that splits the price into 12 to 24 instalments. The monthly fee will be according to the device. Apple will launch this service at the end of 2022.
